PiezoWalk linear motor actuators are non-resonant type piezo motors and can provide very high resolution and high forces. PI currently offers two types: A smaller, faster one (NEXACT)that is based on a monolithic piezo element and a larger type consisting of several individual piezo actuators (NEXLINE). Both types generate motion through succession of coordinated clamp/ unclamp and expand/contract cycles. Each cycle can provide a steps from a few nanometers to a few microns of linear motion. With repetition rates of up to 100's of steps per second, continuous motion up to 10 mm/sec can be achieved. These motors also provide a second, highly dynamic, analog operating mode with total travel of a few microns but picometer resolution. Another advantage of PiezoWalk motors is the autolocking feature. When at rest, they hold position with extreme stability, and no heat generation. |
N-216 High-Force PiezoWalk OEM Ceramic Linear Motor Actuator
The N-216 linear actuators provides even higher forces than the N-111 version. It is designed for high-end nanopositioning and alignment applications with very high forces and extreme precision and lifetime requirements. The patented operating principle is based on coordinated motion of a number of highly preloaded linear and shear piezo elements acting on a ceramic runner. The net effect is the combination of piezo-class precision with travel ranges common to conventional linear motors. PDF Brochure | High Force Piezo Motor Linear Acuator: Specs and Data |

N-111 Medium-Force Piezo Linea Motor Actuator
These medium force actuators are designed for high-end nanopositioning and alignment applications with extreme precision and lifetime requirements. The patented operating principle is based on coordinated motion of a number of highly preloaded linear and shear piezo elements acting on a ceramic runner. The net effect is the combination of piezo-class precision with travel ranges common to conventional linear motors. PDF Brochure | Piezo Motor Linear Actuator: Specs and Data
N-310 Miniature Linear Actuators with Low Voltage PiezoWalk-Motor
This miniaturized linear motor drive is based on the patented NEXACT piezowalk motor. Open-loop and closed-loop mode operation is possible. A variety of NEXACT controllers facilitates the integration into micro- or nanopositioning applications. N-381 High-Precision Piezo-Motor-Driven Linear Actuator and Manipulator
The N-381 piezo-motor driven linear actuator is an ideal drive system for micro & nano manipulators, biotechnology and nanotechnology applications. It combines rapid acceleration with high precision, velocity to 10 mm/sec and push/pull force to 10 N (2.2 lbs). The PiezoWalk drive principle provides a step mode and a highly dynamic "analog" piezo mode that can output continuous waveforms with amplitudes up to 7 microns and frequencies to 100's of Hz. The "analog mode" can also be used for rapid acceleration such as required in cell penetration applications, or smooth motion for dynamic laser tuning or even for active damping of oscillations.
